A Poet’s Laryngectomy Journey

A Poet’s Laryngectomy Journey

Warwick Smith had a laryngectomy in December 2022 after a diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer of the larynx. Without the operation his life expectancy was just 6 months. He has chronicled his journey, from diagnosis through treatment to recovery, with a series of 20 poems, each written at the time of an event, capturing his emotions.

The poems have now been published in a book, available via Amazon. Proceeds will be donated to Warwick’s laryngectomy support group, The Oldham Quiet Ones, which is a registered charity and affiliated to NALC. Please support this worthwhile cause.
